The PYRAX BIO SEAL is an endodontic sealant made using highly advanced technology which utilizes strontium silicate bioceramic formulation.This material possesses bioactivity, and hence its chemical composition is such that it can be used effectively for root canal sealing and biological activity as well.

FLOWABILITY

PYRAX BIO SEAL provides 23 mm flowability, enabling controlled movement of the sealer through the prepared root canal system.

FILM THICKNESS

The film thickness of PYRAX BIO SEAL is ultrathin at 14 µm, and this provides intimate adaptation between the dentinal wall, sealer, and gutta-percha.A thin sealer film helps minimize unnecessary material thickness while supporting an intimate and continuous sealing interface throughout the root canal.

RADIOPACITY

PYRAX BIO SEAL provides high radiopacity of >8 mm Al, enabling clear visualization of the sealer and obturation material during radiographic evaluation.

SETTING TIME

Initial Setting Time: 3.5 Hours

PYRAX BIO SEAL offers a controlled initial setting time of 3.5 hours, providing adequate working time during obturation while allowing the sealer to develop its final sealing characteristics after placement.

PYRAX BIO SEAL exhibits an alkaline pH of 12.Its alkaline environment contributes to the sealer's biological and antibacterial characteristics and supports the bioactive behaviour of the bioceramic formulation.

DENTINAL TUBULE PENETRATION

The excellent flowability and ultra-thin 14 µm film thickness of PYRAX BIO SEAL facilitate penetration into microscopic irregularities and dentinal tubules.With dentinal tubule penetration of =50 µm, the sealer is designed to increase contact with the dentinal substrate and support a more intimate sealer–dentin interface.

ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY

PYRAX BIO SEAL provides antibacterial characteristics associated with its alkaline bioceramic environment. Its pH of 12 creates an alkaline environment that is unfavourable to many microorganisms, supporting the antimicrobial aspect of root canal sealing.

SOLUBILITY

The PYRAX BIO SEAL was formulated to have low solubility (=3%) to ensure the durability and stability of the sealant after setting.Low solubility will contribute to the preservation of integrity of the sealant layer in the root canal space.
